The original Localshop site first came online way back in 1999. With limited resources, no financial backing and the need to make a living I was unable to work on this full time until now.
A lot has changed since 1999; the technology has matured, much more information is available online and the necessary resources are now available.
The stage is set for the Localshop Vision to become a reality:
"To provide a comprehensive online Local Directory Service
that empowers people by providing accessible, relevant and
well-structured information describing the resources
available to their community."
Since kicking things off in late April I have been investing time scanning search engines and collecting data from local services, businesses and anyone who will talk to me.
Over the next few months all of this will be available to the Northern Gold Coast residents through this site as I complete the functional aspects of the site.
By showcasing the benefits of this ‘comprehensive’ approach I aim to grow the business and make the system available to others looking to support their own local community.
